Sabino vase ‘Hirondelle’ Pattern

An early piece of Sabino Glass, opalescent and decorated  with  the fantastic Hirondelle Swallow pattern.

It is in perfect condition, with the distinctive blue hue in the glass due to its high level of arsenic.

Its hand etched mark reads ‘Sabino Paris’ on the bottom of the vase, which would indicated that it is an early piece that was intended for retail in Paris only.

The glass studio was founded by Marius Sabino in Paris. A lot of his opalescent glass was designed for luxury electric lighting that would of just becoming installed into more buildings.
