Made to the design of Peter Waals. Solid oak a very practical and useful item of furniture.
Consisting of full hanging space, a flight of four drawers with shelf’s above.
These where made by apprentice cabinet makers at the Loughborough Art College for there dormitories with exposed dovetails and wedged tenon details showing on the side panels.
Peter Waals studied under Ernest Gimson eventually owning his own workshop and later becoming a consultant at Loughborough College shorty before his death in 1937.
This item consists of four parts overall size 200 cm x 147 cm x 55 cm.
Dismantled, Base 148 cm x 55/57 cm x 16 cm.
Wardrobe 185 cm x 62 cm x 55 cm.
Chest 83 cm x 52 cm.
Bookcase 85 cm x 82 cm x 25 cm.
