A rare Hagenauer Chrome and Ebonised wood canoe with a figure wearing a coolie hat, it was probably originally designed as a desk cigarette box but could be used for keeping any small objects.
The two hinged domed boxes are made to look like a trading canoe’s cargo, with the figure holding his long punt pole
This design would put it in the style of Franz Hagenauer who’s dates where 1906 -1986, putting in in the 1930s.
It has lost some of chrome on the box shown in the images this runs along the back side and therefore is not so noticeable.
It has some rubbing on the ebonized wood consistent with age, the figure is complete and in good order.
Measurements; 48 cm long 7 cm wide 23 cm height of figure pole 33 cm long
