A very rare pair of settle chairs.
Designed around 1899 by Ambrose Heals of London.
Constructed of fine quarter sawn English Oak, and in perfect condition, with a neat inside armrest.
We have replaced the upholstery and seat cushion, with original Arts and Craft material.
The chairs are illustrated in the Heals catalogue ‘Simple Bedroom Furniture’ and also a full colour plate in
John Andrews ‘Arts and Craft Furniture’ published by the Antique Collectors Club.
