Designed by WAS Benson  (1854-1924)  this hot water jug is one of the many domestic items that William Arthur Smith created in the late 1800’s

He also designed beautiful lightning and decorative items for his discerning clients being greatly influenced by another great Arts and craft artist Edward Burn-Jones.

The Jug has a ceramic inner lining and is marked BENSON along the inside of the handle. It is in excellent condition and retains its original deep copper lustre, thanks to the ingenious invention of Benson to coat the metal in an invisible lacquer.
